Com um riff selvagem e um solo eletrificado, O guitarrista britânico Dave Davies praticamente inventou o hard rock na faixa “You really got me”. Essa coletânea de singles reúne músicas da primeira fase do grupo, a mais barulhenta. Mais tarde o grupo se voltaria ao pop barroco psicodélico de discos como “Something else”, mas a semente da sujeira já estava lançada.
